Standards for the month: Math 7. EE.1 & 7.EE.2 Creating equivalent expression. Science MS-PS1-2. Analyze and interpret data on the properties of substances before and after the substances interact to determine if a chemical reaction has occurred. Social Studies 7.6- Analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the early civilization of Medieval Europe. ELA RL.7.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Parent Tips: Giving Educational Guidance 1. Help your child get and stay organized. 2. Encourage good study habits. 3. Talk about assignments. 4. Watch for frustration and assist them. 5. Give your child praise. Getting in an Educational Groove- establish healthy at-home routines for school days, such as consistent waking times and getting-ready patterns. Decide on a regular homework time, and create a comfortable, quiet work space. Set bedtimes that allow your child to get 9 to 10 hours of sleep.

Team News:
Our team will be going on a STEM field trip on October 7th in Riverside. In years past, our students have had the opportunity to fly drones, control robots, and engage with countless industry professionals in the science, technology, and engineering domains. Our students are excited to go, and as a team, we hope that our students’ imagination will be sparked to plan for future careers in the STEM fields.

Noticias del Equipo:
Nuestro equipo estará yendo a un viaje escolar de STEM el 7 de Octubre en Riverside. En años anteriores, nuestros estudiantes han tenido la oportunidad de volar drones, controlar robots, y acoplarse con números de profesionales de la industria en ciencia, tecnología, y en dominios de ingeniería. Nuestros estudiantes están muy emocionados para ir, y como equipo, nuestro deseo es que la imaginación de los estudiantes se encienda y planeen un futuro en carreras en STEM.

Consejos para Padres:

Dando Dirección Educativa 1. Ayude a su hijo/a estar y a mantenerse organizado. 2. Anime buenos hábitos de estudio. 3. Hablen sobre asignaciones. 4. Poner cuidado a la frustración y darles ayuda. 5. De alabanza a su hijo/a.

Entrar en un Surco Educativo - establecer rutinas de casa saludables en días escolares, por ejemplo, tiempos de despertar y arreglarse consistentes. Decidir una hora regular para hacer tarea y crear un espacio de trabajo cómodo y cayado. Ponga horarios de dormir que permitan que su hijo/a duerma 9 a 10 horas diarios.

Welcome to the 2015-16 school year!  We are very excited to be your child’s teachers and we are looking forward to helping your child learn new academic and social skills. Students have already demonstrated sitting like model students, volunteering, and staying on task as well as ignoring distractions. We see progress in students’ vocabulary and how they hold themselves in class. They are standing and projecting their voices. Also, thank you parents for attending Back to School night; we had a good turnout and won the spirit point competition.  Please continue giving your child support, together we can make a difference in your child’s success by making hope happen.

Teach your child to set goals for themselves.  Goals should be SMART

S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Attainable
R = Relevant, Rigorous, Realistic, and Results Focused
T = Timely and Trackable

A goal has to be realistic with a stretch, requiring effort and focus to achieve it. That's why goals need timeframes and measurable action steps along the way so that we can keep track of progress and make adjustments as necessary.

For example: In the next marking period, I will get at least a C on all my math tests, and at least a B on most of my quizzes and homework assignments.

Parent Tips:

Cell Phone Policy-

Students must keep their cell phones turned off and in their backpacks while on campus.  If you need to contact your child, please call our office at 909-881-8168.  Phones will be confiscated if district policy is not followed.  All confiscated phones must be picked up by a parent or guardian.

¡Bienvenidos al ano escolar 2015-16!  Estamos muy emocionados de ser los maestros du su hijo/a y esperamos poder ayudar a su hijo/a aprender nuevas habilidades sociales y académicas.  Estudiantes han demostrado ser estudiantes modelos mientras están sentados, siendo voluntarios, y manteniéndose enfocados. Vemos el progreso en el vocabulario de los estudiantes y cómo se comportan en clase. Se están parando y proyectando sus voces. También, gracias a los padres por asistir a la noche de regreso a la escuela; tuvimos un buen número de asistencia y ganamos la competición para puntos de espíritu. Por favor continúe a apoyar a su hijo/a y juntos haremos la diferencia en el triunfo de su hijo/a haciendo que la esperanza suceda.

Enseñe a su hijo/a a ponerse metas para ellos mismos. Metas deben ser SMART (Inteligente)

S = Specific (Especifico)

A = Attainable (Alcanzable)

Realístico, y Enfocado en Resultados)

Una meta tiene que ser realista, requiriendo esfuerzo y enfoque  para lograrla. Por eso metas necesitan plazos de tiempo y pasos contables en el camino para que puedan mantenerse al tanto de su progreso y poder hacer los ajustes necesarios.

En ejemplo: Para el próximo periodo de marcos, tendré por lo menos una C en todos mis exámenes  de matemáticas, y por lo menos una B en la mayoría de mis asignaciones y tareas.

Consejos a Padres:

Póliza de Teléfono Celular –

Estudiantes deben mantener teléfonos celulares apagados y dentro sus mochilas mientras estén en el campus. Si se ve o se escucha un celular, será confiscado. Un padre o tutor tendrá que recoger celulares confiscados de la oficina.
